Employee Spotlight: Meet Eduardo!
Eduardo is part of our Nashville team as General Manager of the Cool Springs location. He started his Taziki’s career as part of the kitchen team in 2016, mastering the station we call Roll-Up, which dishes up our Appetizers and delicious Healthy Sides, as well as some of our popular Sandwiches. He was eager to learn all the kitchen stations - Grill, Salad, and Expo - and was quickly ready to lead the kitchen crew throughout his shifts. But it wasn’t until his mentor and Nashville Area Supervisor, Armando Perez, approached him about growing with the company that he considered the path to management.
Even though he holds a degree in business admin & finance, Eduardo says he was hesitant to take the step up into management because of his comfort level with English. Armando encouraged him, knowing that daily practice of English with Taziki’s guests and staff would quickly help him gain confidence with the language. When an additional chance to grow his skills came along with the Voxy EnGen tool, he jumped at the chance and used their online lessons and virtual classes regularly.
He worked his way up through the Shift Leader and Assistant Manager positions, and is now so proud to be a GM, running one of the busiest Taziki’s locations in the company. He and his wife, a make-up artist, just bought their first home, and as working parents, are grateful to be part of a company that provides them financial stability and schedule that allows them to spend time together as a family. Their son Matias is now three years old, and Eduardo saw early on as a father that working his way from the kitchen team to the management team would give him the ability to organize his schedule to be more available at home, given that Taziki’s has no early morning breakfast hours or late night bar hours.
When asked what his favorite part of being a GM at Tazikis is, his list is long!
“I love the people, the opportunities for growth, the stability, and especially the mentorship I’ve received.”
And his favorite thing on the menu? “Lamb Gyro with a side Caesar salad!”
Outside of work, you can find Eduardo playing soccer with his local team (along with some other Taziki’s staff!) in the position of goalie. While he misses his father’s cattle ranch back in Venezuela, he and his wife love Nashville and plan to call it home for a long time. He hopes to open & own his own Taziki’s unit one day, putting his business, finance, and restaurant experience together for a stable future!
